WAKE ANIMAL ADVOCATES GROUP
Bring Home a Smile!
WAAG is a nonprofit corporation

Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption Center needs animal foster families to temporarily care for animals until they are ready for adoption.

The Foster Program was formally launched at the end
of May 2008 with the goal of locating and enlisting
animal foster families to temporarily care for animals
until they are ready for adoption.  These foster families
would provide individualized care and socialization for
the Center’s most needy animals.  Animals that are sick, injured, very young, pregnant or with litter, and those needing additional socialization are the targeted and ideal candidates for the foster program.  When these animals are placed in foster care, it allows the Center to shelter more animals in the vacated kennels that would otherwise have been occupied by underage or sick animals.

Animal foster volunteers will be trained in the proper care of the foster animals and the administration of medicine if needed.  Our foster volunteers experience the joys of pet parenthood without the lifetime commitment as the typical foster period is two to 12 weeks depending on the needs of the animal(s).
